If it was not under warranty you could have fixed it yourself for a fraction of the dealer cost.
If you were going to hire them to fix it anyway pay the bill.
If you were not, negotiate the bill down or have them to take the part off, tow it home and fix it yourself.
I hate it when jack hats try to work me like that.
I would probably pay the bill and file that information for future reference so it doesn’t happen again. I would approve all warranty work on the future with the understating that it will be covered under warranty period, regardless of mistakes. | |
