Ludington/Manistee MI area | davpal - 12/3/2022 18:08 I admire anybody that takes anything to a dealership anymore. I would rather lie on a cold floor and change a fuel pump myself that I paid for than take it anwhere to get it fixed. Just because of reasons like this. Paying somebody $100 dollars an hour to do mechanic work doesn't exactly appeal to me either. And the fact that you might end up doing it yourself anyway after some sloppy mechanic in a "hurry" throws a fuel pump in your vehicle for $700 dollars after I could get a Motorcraft one from Rock Auto for $179 dollars.
Yup rolling around on a shop creeper getting dirt in my eyes sounds like a blast. Take 3x as long at home as dealer plenty of other stuff that can me done. Other than airing up a tire or changing wipers or bulbs I have it done. If something needs done wife makes an appointment and shuffles vehicle. For stuff like the fuel pump mentioned I got a shade tree mechanic that works very reasonable.
