Subject: Water - how to find a slow leak?

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

G'day my NAT friends.

Question we have to solve is this - how does one locate a slow leak?

Water authority meter at our church showed a reading twice as high as expected, at a conservative guess.

Checked all likely suspects, taps in the grounds, toilets in the suite of buildings, turned off the supply to a 'boiling water' unit in the kitchen. All yielded not a thing as to how the supply was 'using' 2 - 3 litres per hour - that's quite a lot of water over a 90 day billing period!

Main church building is 100 yrs old in 2025, some pipes may be as old! Newer hall, meeting rooms, kitchen are approaching 60  - so pipework in and around there is probably that age as well.

That 'leak' should produce a noticeable wet area, but local rainfall has been well above average - making that approach a little difficult.  We are coming into Summer, so hopefully the grounds will dry out.

So -  how do we find the leak  - please!
