over taxed nebraska | if you find a shop that promises you less than $10k -run. You said it has a knock, crank alone will eat up $2k.
this is only a one way to fix situation-do it right. new parts in head, rods sized with new bushings, and likely block bore align and 0-ring inserts are very possible.
the machining costs have went up dramatically lately and parts have increased too so what could have been done fore $10k is likely now $13k. do not let anyone da half job. the extra to have right is worth it.
I am always being asked to do a cheaper version in my private shop and my short answer is to find someone else for that because half always ends up being one and a half and the redo is supposed to be done for free. nobody is happy. | |
