Your test does not actually prove that the Spray-Air is more effective. It does show that under the conditions you sprayed full rate Buctril M was too much for the canary seed. That is not the first time and won't be the last that Buctril M was too hot for a crop. It would have been interesting to see what a conventional sprayer would have done under the same conditions. Spray-Air's are promoted as being more effective with their application method and perhaps they are. Your field experiment however does not actually show that as you have no check.


Interesting point.

Perhaps I will get a neighbour to hit one pass with his JD SP sprayer (can't remember those models for some reason), one pass at full rate, one at 65%, and then one pass with my spray-air at 100%, and then at 65%. Something for next year. Should be interesting.
