Your test does not actually prove that the Spray-Air is more effective. It does show that under the conditions you sprayed full rate Buctril M was too much for the canary seed. That is not the first time and won't be the last that Buctril M was too hot for a crop. It would have been interesting to see what a conventional sprayer would have done under the same conditions. Spray-Air's are promoted as being more effective with their application method and perhaps they are. Your field experiment however does not actually show that as you have no check.

Perhaps I will get a neighbour to hit one pass with his JD SP sprayer (can't remember those models for some reason), one pass at full rate, one at 65%, and then one pass with my spray-air at 100%, and then at 65%. Something for next year. Should be interesting. |
