Subject: RE: Solar farm lease

Had a two hour meeting with a guy yesterday over solar farm. I was under the impression he was interested in one 270 ac. farm but after a short time he was interested in about any piece that had a electrical line close to it. A lot of the comments above apply here, with the net dollars that that ground should produce the next few years plus land values going up, HELL NO to the SOLAR BS. We just ran off the Wind Turbine guy with his 50 page lease which was tilted towards the Wind Turbine Co. They all want you to sign up at a low $ and sign a lease that protects only them. After wasting lots of $ with an attorney they will change the lease some to entice you to sign. We signed on with a cell tower company many years ago for a 50 lease. If we did not do it neighbor across the road would have, rough ground with no potential of generating $, so why not? It did not take long for cell tower leases to start paying as much per month and some per week as what we signed up for. That lease will run out here before long and than it will be time for them to pay up, as our attorney added to the lease the 30' deep by 8' diameter of concrete under the tower has to be removed when they leave, so they will pay us what we want for the new lease or they will pay out the ass to clean up and move. I think the attorneys are the only winners in all these cases. Wind Turbine Co. is targeting this area because of a new 375 thousand volt transmission line, absentee land ownership, fewer houses in the country. You can protect yourself, but how about the ground that surrounds you, are they going to sell out?
