S Illinois | It’s makes little business sense to. Think like a business and not some nostalgic farmer with regards to land. Real estate is not tax deductible and they have zero interest in playing the appreciation game to make the investment worthwhile. It would also require a massive amount of tied up capital that returns little to them. These companies aren’t in it to hand it down to their children or wax poetically about what their grandparents did on that ground.
Very common for businesses to rent buildings, land, etc and only own the means of production. | |
