Subject: Re: Valor and JD 47XX Sprayers

South Georgia
I'd like to say that it's doing us a good job this year, but in all honesty, everything we've got (well, except for one conventional-till field) is surprisingly clean this year, cotton corn and peanuts. We do have some damage in one spot, but it's on six rows that were sprayed as one pass, and on the end, so I'm betting the operator wasn't going fast enough. No rate controller, just a thrown together sprayer just for this.

You use it for cotton burndown, or layby (hooded)? We've used it under the hooded sprayer with roundup, but I dont' like it there. The residual control may be phenomenal, but I think that it burns the leaves off of the pigweed, and keeps it from taking up the Roundup. We seem to have significantly worse control on emerged (pretty big, admittedly,) pigweed where we tankmix the Valor with Roundup, vs. just the Roundup.
