What if the fed doesn't get inflation under control

Even if inflation goes down to 2-3% per year we are still in a world of hurt because that figure has not been accurate for years. Also that's 2-3 % on top of maybe the 15 to 20 % (do not know actual number but neither does the government) we have already seen in the last few months so by say 2023-24 we are talking things costing about 30 percent or more than 2020-2021.

Also during the 80's I don't remember expensive toys that everyone needed. Those may go by the wayside for a few.
Heck I remember you didn't call long distance unless it was necessary.
