I had some years ago that a guy that hunted regularly brought to a pot luck dinner. It tasted like roast beef to me. He said his wife knew how to fix it so it did not taste gamey. He said the secret was to cook it in a bed of rice. Then throw the rice away. The rice absorbed the fat and gamey taste.

Don't take my word for it. I'm just repeating what he had told me probably 40 years ago. But that was good eating however it was done. And I'm not one that generally likes wild game to eat much.
