West Alabama | I’m kinda leaning Trimble also. I’m using the “Non Deere Guidance 2” option when I spray and it works pretty good. Only thing I don’t like about this is I’m planting with RTK and spraying with SF1 so every time I pull into the field my line has drifted. Then I have to find the right row and re-center the line. Sometimes when I’m in a hurry I might mistakenly pick the wrong row to re-center the line to. Some folks might think this is no big deal if you are off by 1 row, but I like for the sprayer to drive down the same rows every time to keep potential crop damage isolated to the same place all year.
Also I’m having to nudge the line a little this way or that way all day. It’s not terrible, but it would be nice if I could use my RTK correction that I’m already paying for. I wish I could spray like I plant, which is to say that I just pull into the field and go. My line is the same all year every year and there is no nudging and re-centering.
If I put the new GFX 750 in the sprayer, would the display and NAV 900 be all I needed to auto steer? Maybe an unlock of some kind? Would the NAV 900 work or would I have to get a NAV II or NAV III also? And if I went that route would the little number “2” button on the hydro handle that is pressed to engage John Deere’s AutoTrac still work to engage the Trimble auto steer?
