Minnesota | I've been feeling this way for over a month already just from watching the August rains. Not sure if this stays true to Illinois, but around here the best crops we ever had in ranking order will correlate perfectly with July and August rain totals. It all makes sense right? Corn needs the most water late in the season so what's the likelihood of a monster crop if it doesn't rain during that time frame? After yesterday I'm convinced USDA will be lowering yields in IA, IL, IN for sure...maybe OH, that one might be ok to leave as high as it is. I don't think IL and IN end up records with not the best finish. Thanks for the post, I've been hearing and seeing the same thing from the different sources I use too. | |
