i made a batch of crock pickles this year. used spices.dill. alum . grapes leaves, pickling salt.vinegar ect, put in crock with a plate on top, checked daily, no scum. smelled great after 3 weeks i tried one. rubbery and nasty tasting. what could have gone wrong
