Fetv - 4/24/2022 08:56 Same thing happened with LED lights. It was the end of the world. Don’t hear much about it now.

Not the end of the world but I still don't believe that LED or CFL light bulbs have saved me a single dime in my hog buildings.

The old 100w incandescent bulbs were able to be purchased in a 4 pack for $1 and lasted 2x longer than the $5/bulb LED/CFL bulbs do.     Every $1 they save on electricity is eaten up by the cost of the bulbs.

Now since you're going to argue about the incandescent bulbs lasting longer, take note that I'm talking about using them in hog buildings.   The LED/CFL bulbs do not like the dirty air in hog buildings and they don't even come close to lasting as long at the package says they're supposed to.     And NO ONE will warranty them for use in a hog building.

If I could still find 100w incandescent bulbs, even for $2/pack, I'd buy a pallet of them.
