The fed does not buy it's own bonds, the Fed buys US Government bonds. And btw they have quit which is why the 10 and 30 year are jumping. Just wait until they start selling the bonds they have. Currently they are just rolling their old bonds to new, sometime near middle of May they are thinking they will let their bonds runoff ( meaning as the bonds become duethey don't reinvest them ) buy December I would look for the Fed to try and stat selling their bond before maturity. If inflation still look to be a problem if they do that the 10 year will be north of 5.5%

Edit: reminder the Fed is not the federal government the fed is the federal reserve.


I realize a lot of what you said. Just compressed my thoughts so I wouldn't need 50k words. I think my point is clear.

And the Fed is very much political..............whether they're supposed to be or not.
