I have read that pre WWII steel has more chromium in it.

I have heard if the Titanic was made of modern steel, it wouldn't have sank.

As to machines lasting from not being used. I was talking to a Hagie sales guy. I told him I found a very low hour Hagie sprayer. He told me that model were all low hour because they quit often and never got hours. He told me to buy a Deere instead of that model.

Would the modern steel changed the buoyancy of the ship. Or would it not have ripped open such a big hole. Harder steel and bounced off the iceberg?

Just wondering what the theory was on this concept.
