se montana
I’m in the same boat. My yearling grassers are for sale in the country this weekend and if that falls through, I’ve booked trucks for Thursday’s sale barn. We are super dry. 7.5” last calendar year and not looking any better.

I’ve thought long and hard, and I hate to bite the bullet right now at current price pressure and give up a couple hundred pounds of weight, but it appears the weight discounts from 700 up are god awful this year. Add that to not having **** for moisture and feed and boom... there’s my decision.

Right or wrong, I don’t want to have to face having a hungry cowherd in July after the grasshoppers come to town.

Best of luck, but I would never regret managing for drought and not getting a drought.
