One of my son's dogs developed lymphoma. The local vet had done a lot work and research on this. He told us the treatment would make the dog seem more normal for awhile but would last more than a month or two. Six weeks later when the dog stopped eating again we made one more trip to the vet. The vet bill was very reasonable. He took off a good amount for "research".
