At some point in time this was going to happen with the kids being the landlords. They thought they were going to make some more money from their inherited farm.
At least they did come back to you, probably because no one would match your rent.
If you would like to continue to farm it I would carry on with the same rent as in the past. You were making money off the farm or you wouldn’t have been farming it. Also you won’t be getting a neighbor either.
Sometimes it is best to just put on your poker face and keep in keeping on. You don’t want to cut off your nose to spite your face probably. It took me a lot of years to be able to look at it this way.
