According to
https://smartasset.com/investing/inflation-calculator#ACooAZuCg2
"$250,000 in 2002 will be worth $366,088 in 2020. This is an average inflation rate of 2.15% and cumulative inflation of 46.44%." Theoretically the new buyer got a buy. Of course it is not known current condition of house compared to 2002, or if inflation calculator is accurate.

I pieced together this graph that appears to show land is still overpriced in historical terms:

Edit: Information comes from:
Land Values - www.extension.iastate.edu/agdm (closed tab, don't have link)
Mortgage Rates - https://www.valuepenguin.com/mortgages/historical-mortgage-rates
assume these are for houses not land so would be different
Inflation correction - https://liberalarts.oregonstate.edu/sites/liberalarts.oregonstate.ed...
Also, Payment and Adjusted Payment is on Left Y axis, Land Value and Adjusted Value is on Right Y axis.
