EC Kansas | The good old days. Growing up in the 50s and early 60s my dad had chickens, hogs, cows (both beef and dairy. We grew all the crops you mentioned.
Then came consolidation, corporate livestock processing and feeding. We got rid of all those animals and focused on beef cow herd and selling the calves off the pasture. Don’t need oats. Wheat sucks, alfalfa only for our herd.
What’s left. Corn and soybeans.
Adjustments will be made. People will keep eating animal protein and maybe if we get a honest administration back the epa can be reversed and the non electric gas burning vehicles that are left will burn more ethanol and less petro. Win win for enviros and farmers. Oil companies can pound sand but will still be in business. Oil is not going away. | |
