Subject: carnivore

Pittsburg, Kansas

Even guys like Shawn Baker, who is a doctor that practices a carnivore diet for himself, say that a good plant based diet is probably still going to be better than the SAD (standard American diet) because it gets people more towards whole foods and away from highly processed foods.

If a person wants to go down another rabbit hole there is the whole carnivore thing. It seems certain people have health problems when consuming plants for various reasons (mostly autoimmune) and going on a meat based diet is beneficial for those individuals as it eliminates any plants that are causing them problems. Some prominent doctors that promote carnivore diets are Shawn Baker and Paul Salidino. A prominent blogger that has been on a carnivore diet for many years and has some interesting interviews is Kelly Hogan. My wife likes to watch her (this is kind of a cute one with her husband). Going zero carb is not something many people are going to want to do or need to do, but for people that have had health issues that they can't seem to get resolved it is another avenue that may provide relief. It is purported to be a good elimination diet. Eat nothing but meat and water for a couple weeks and see if there are improvements. If there are improvements then a person can introduce plants one at a time and see what is causing the problem. Jordan Peterson is one famous person who has dealt with autoimmune conditions who solved his problems by going on a strict meat based diet. Along with his daughter Mikhaila Peterson.

I'm not promoting carnivore but it does point out that what we put in our mouth does effect our health, some people to a greater degree than others.

Edit: listening to Jordan Peterson again it reminded me of something else that has changed since changing diets. My gums used to bleed every time I brushed my teeth and my teeth when cleaned by the dentist was always needing it badly. I don't think I can brush my teeth hard enough to get them to bleed now. They never bleed. And my teeth barely need cleaned when I go to the dentist now. Just another thing getting off the sugar and lots of carbs has done for me.
