Near-north Ontario, French River | Oh I agree with you about the quest to get bigger. Used to be if you rented a farm , all you needed was a handshake and your pretty much had it as long as you want. Anymore you need signed leases and the local riffraff still tries to weasel in. The days of the gentleman farmer are almost over IMHO, not saying all the new guys are bad but there are a couple that will stoop to anything to grab land. Funny part is they lease everything...if things goes south those are the guys that walk away, and start over again the next year with no thought as to the carnage they leave behind. |
