The eastern farmers feel for you guys in the midwest. Around here the hay crop is going to be pretty strong. Not seeing much yet on corn as we have had a cool wet Spring. For us growing perennial crops(grapes) we get what we get each year. We did plant another 600 vines in May. The rain and sun cycles have been pretty helpful for the new vines. Things are starting out slow but it's picking up pretty quickly with a jump in degree days. We are now on grape berry moth(GBM) watch with pheromone traps. Last year we probably lost 80% of our crop to GBM and related events(yellow jackets, hornets, fruit flies, & fruit rots).
