West Central IL | It seems like this was the spring that never ends. Normally I spread the dry in the fall, dad and a cousin normally put on the Ammonia. Well, they got about 3 days of that done. This spring I had to put a lot of it on myself. Then, normally we no till almost everything. I think I VT'd every acre except about 400 acres of beans. That was all the while hooking to the Ammonia bar and switching to the Salford off and on for about 3 weeks. Had two fields we worked to dry out, rained and had to work them again. Finally finished up Monday. Feels like a huge weight lifted, BUT, how is this crop going to fare, and how is this fall going to go. Be a late harvest and it's going to push fall work back again into next spring I'm afraid again. It'll be a couple seasons just to catch back up to normal now. |
