South Central MN | Or, in the case of the job I work at in the winter, some of those guys 55-60 end up HAVING to retire due to a back that is shot or some other health issues because of the physical demands of the job. Farming isn't easy either, filling the planter with bags sucks but not as bad as getting stuck working a 12 because someone called out sick and ending up handling several hundred 50 lb. bags over the course of the shift, then going back to work for the rest of the week to the same thing that happened the day before.
Then there are those guys who retire, and drop dead a few months or years after and never get to enjoy much of retirement, after working at a soul crushing job that they hated all the while they worked at the place but didn't have any other options. | |
