Yeh Gavins Point is going to have to open those gates further. When Spencer Dam broke it really put things under strain. I was at Gavins Point in 2010 when they realeased over 160,000 cfs. The gates were wide open. Man that water was gushing out off there like I have never seen before. I was parked about 100 feet away from it an could feel the wind a water there. I no if that dam ever broke there would be devestation downstream. Omqha would take it in the shorts.. It would be a disaster. Gavins point is one off many dams in the upper Missouri River. Ft Randal is to the west an several more upstream form there. With all the snowpack in the South Dakota its go to go somewhere. We don't need any more rain events for awahile. iTS ANOTHER 2010 AGAIN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKk26-UNckY Lewis an Clarke Lake which is above the dam is at record levels. The corps is having an emergency meeting this afternoon on the status off Gavins Point. Stay tuned
