I have always Owned more than 1/2 of what I farm. Farming makes me happy. It is hard to farm enough to justify a full line of machinery unless you rent some even if it is old and outdated. Buying land was tough and still tough. After 40+ years I still have land payments. Land payments feel like rent to me they may not be as big as rent payments but they aren't tax deductible.
