Yes, I have been through all of the above. I was adopted and located my biological mother about 2 years ago. We have a good relationship and I have two siblings from her and some adorable little nephews. I was able to locate my biological father as well and just met him and some of his family at Thanksgiving including 1 of my sisters by him. We have a good relationship as well.
As an adoptee you are always searching for a sense of self. No other way to describe it. Your history is taken from you when you are placed for adoption. It gives you a lot to find those answers. Some may be hard to hear but at least you have answers. Even having an honest conversation with your MD is so much easier when you can fill in some blanks. | |
