| I do my best to count while I'm making trips, and have seen plenty! In 3 trips last week, all taking different routes to and from, I bet I was over 300 birds in that count. This would be Kossuth and Winnebago counties - pleasantly surprised to see as many as I have, but they are searching for food and getting hungry.
I am a bit disappointed that I've only seen one covey of Partridge, after seeing quite a few this harvest. I know they are a bit tougher to find, but it was nice seeing them starting to make a come back. And yes, deer are everywhere, searching for food as well. Quite a bit of snow cover on the fields, which is making it extremely tough on the wildlife. | |
