When I used to feed silage out of a silage bag or when a neighbor spread manure in the winter time I'd see small groups of pheasants. It seems they group up like people do, a group of roosters in one area and a group of hens some place else. I saw a pheasant hen in my neighbor's yard, it would stretch out and then jump up and eat the berries off one of her shrubs. The deep snow covered up a lot of the various weeds and grasses that they feed on. I hope the heavy snow this weekend doesn't impact the population as they were just starting to recover number wise.
