Subject: RE: punch cards?

Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!)

One of my first "A's" [there weren't many] at Valdosta State College was in spring of 1977, a 3 hour computer science course, with a companion 2 hour course in Fortran programming language. I remember making an "A" on an assignment to write a program to convert Farenheidt temperatures to Centigrade. One of the guys did something wrong that did one of those loops to infiniti, preventing the rest of our punch cards from being run one night.

They actually ran them at night, and I believe the unit that it ran on was actually in Athens at UGA. One of the available computers, as I remember, was something about a "Cyber 70" I think, and the other some kind of IBM.

While it was fun back then, it's a lot more fun today.
