Kingston,Mi | So too loud equals too old, right volume equals maturity then not load enough to raise the dead equals immature. I live on a major state highway and put up with poker runs for 6 months a year. Even better is one of the stops is 1/2 mile away. When these knights of the highway leave the Iron Horse and calmly accelerate away toward the next stop in packs of up to a hundred, I can here them slow down or stop at a 4 way stop 5 1/2 miles east or 10 miles west, BUT have been at the mailbox and didn't here them until they were less than a 1/4 mile away when coming toward me. So I assume load pipes will save me from being backed over.
Fire Fighters have load sirens and watch cars seem to ignore the apparatus until they "hear" the engine when they see it next to them. I also live under a flight path for A10's, I notice them at about 1/2 mile and can hear them for many miles as they pass.
For your information, I road a 1952 Harley when I started to drive in 1965, it could be load but eventually load becomes tiresome. | |
