I am so sick of the safety nonsense too. Riders claiming that loud pipes are a safety factor while riding with the smallest legal helmet, smallest tail lights, darkest clothes, often without shirts or in tennie runners, and riding like maniacs (I had a guy split lanes that were traveling in opposite directions while blowing everyone's ear drums out.). The AMA requires bikes to meet a decibel limit at the races yet local law refuses to cite loud bikes while citing jake brake users. At events that I attend in CA, I have asked CHP officers if they have ever cited a bike for being too loud. I've yet to find one who has..
If volume equals safety then the F4 Phantom and the Atlas 2 rockets are the safest vehicles out there.
It simply is a narcissistic look at me adolescent form of behavior. Now excuse me while I drive my Detroit 2 stroke diesel pickup around town. | |
