Texas/New Mexico Stateline | Think about how much money Novartis spent over the last couple decades paying for research, trials, chemistry. And then all the research that never amounted to anything and only led to a dead end. All that was sunk costs they couldn't recoup, except charge more for successful products.
I have a relative in my family that is a PhD in Biochemistry, and he took me to a lab where they were doing some kind of research. It was a 10-15 story building with hundreds of laboratories all full of equipment and research going on. All that stuff has to be paid for somehow.
If a person thinks Big Pharma is making too much money, by some shares and by all means partake. It is an expensive business, but we as a society are willing to trade A LOT of money to extend our lives. Otherwise they would not be in business.
