The resident

On a related note: I was watching an episode of the TV show called "The Resident" (FOX). In this episode, one patient was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He wanted to go home and spend some quality time with his wife. The oncologist wanted him to begin treatment at her clinic immediately. The "resident" doctor advised the patient that there was NO chance of a cure and the treatment would only prolong his life by 5 weeks, if it didn't kill him first. He would also suffer from the effects of the treatment. The PATIENT decided to go home and spend time with his wife after hearing both sides of the story.

Should he have spent millions of insurance money to gain maybe 5 weeks of life? The oncologist thought he should.......

Have you watched enough to see that the 2 or 3 "understudies" are trying to she that the cancer doctor is "crooked"

it is a Fox show

I have watched a few episodes and know the general storyline. I wish I could say that it is all fiction, but there is some truth in the story. There are some great doctors out there, but there are also some like the cancer doctor on that show, and a whole bunch that are in between the two extremes.

My uncle currently has stage 4 lung cancer and I feel that he was led on when the treatments were discussed...... Very similar to the episode.
