The biggest problem with Christian Health Sharing is the fact that the IRS doesn't allow you to deduct the premiums. If you're in a 35% marginal tax bracket(state + federal) and pay $10,000 for bcbs you will have to pay less than $6500 a year for sharing ministries to make it worthwhile. Are the savings and risk worth it?
ObamaCare (Healthcare marketplace) cost for my family was about $15k per year. CHM is $2k per year. |
