South Dakota | Also, reading more of the above replies, placing the rope around their neck doesn't matter, I've done that with heifers too, a noose around animal's neck is cause for fight or flight response. Furthermore, if you aren't able to make a halter, say you tied it to a come along in the trailer, they will still fight it and pull it tight until they pass out. Done that rodeo too.
