Could use your pickup and trailer as a wedge to bottleneck him into a pen of panels set up on the opposite side, close it off so that when he tries to "escape" back the way he entered, he gets funneled into the trailer. Kind of like setting up a Bud Box on the side of the pasture. Used a setup like that last fall to load a dry cow that was in with a neighbors bunch.

We had to do this with several bull calves that ran a long ways back while we were moving a herd on horseback. The calves ran across cattle guards, under fencing, down two roads, and then under another fence before we managed to stop them out in the open. Some of the other guys went and got a pickup with horse trailer and parked it near a corner with panels making a funnel to the trailer. It took a long while sitting out there on a horse in cold, 30+ mph winds waiting for them to show up. The calves would still keep trying to make another run after resting. But at least we eventually got the calves loaded.
