Floyd County, Iowa | Upfront is always best. The contractors I dealt with all told the consumer how they operated, or I did if the consumer came in and asked me, and there were no surprises.
I had one that charged his customary hourly rate, showed the consumer his invoices, and charged the consumer 10% over the net invoice cost. Couldn't ask for anything more upfront than that, and wish they all did that.
There was always the chance that someone would think it was a "kickback", which is technically illegal. | |
