| This has been reported by a few people so I have asked Novatel for an explaination, to which their reply was:
"The com3 UART has a feature that it is asleep until the RX line sees activity. This is a characteristic of the power saving feature of the receiver."
I have asked if this can be turned off and I will place another post if it is possible. Personally I think at the very least it will be a firmware change.
Some have commented they need to plug into a laptop to get the NMEA to output, but there is an easier way, which is the short term fix or work-around for the Arro product.
On the Arro terminal you have 2 plugs, the red one which has to be plugged in, and a grey one that streams out the NMEA. When you turn the NMEA on, momentarily plug the grey cable into the Arro terminal (this will start the NMEA) then connect it to your yield monitor. This will have to be done everytime you want to use your yeild monitor, but it is more practical then having to plug it into a laptop all the time.
