East Central, NE | I will say the Landowners side they have every right to ask for whatever amount they want for rent and if they don't want to go down in rent in the down years they have that right as well. From the farmers side I will say that it "sucks". I hope that whenever I retire and if I rent out my ground I will find a good tenant and work with him in the good and the bad years.
It just seems like greed has overtaken farmers and landowners alike. I can think of probably a dozen farmers in my area that literally hate another farmer or farmers for taking their rented ground or buying a farm they hard been renting. Seems like everybody is constantly looking over their shoulders. Just doesn't seem to be a lot of trust left. Seems like everybody got along better when nobody was making any money. | |
