We had one until sometime around 1975. I was at a neighbor's house and needed to call home, I picked up the receiver to see if line was busy before dialing and the neighbor asked me what was I doing, they had a private line serviced by a different town then ours. He didn't know what a party line was and I didn't know you could have a private phone call, we were around 10 or 11 years old.
How many remember the party line phone.
