North East Kansas | You guys don't even know what kind of ground this is so it makes no sense to say some of the things I am seeing. In my area $160 an acre could make you go broke on some ground. This is our 3rd consecutive major drought, and if you don't have much crop even these high prices mean nothing. I am just saying to keep some perspective. We have ground that is worth a lot of money cash rent and some that the landowners just ask us to try and farm to keep the weeds down. We make almost nothing on the farms we farm for free because the ground is horrible. We just farm it as favors to our current land owners. What I am getting at is that there is no way that anyone on the internet can give sound advice without farming the ground themselves. | |
