If one guy owns that much of your operation, you should just consider yourself lucky to still be part of the equation if they have some changes in mind. Ususally it doesn't happen that way. Better share crop it, or even offer to custom farm it if they ask for the whole ball of wax back. 1/3 of the gross probably isn't too far out of line. I bill for a third of chem and fert, but I've had guys on here act like I was some kind of a crook for not just giving up a third of gross. I'm not for digging up old posts to prove things, 1/3 of gross is more common than you think. With that many acres of your ground to protect, it does seem that you would have plugged in some provisions for a LL bonus over the $160 on good years, by now. Might have avoided this current heartburn. But what do I know, my whole row crop side is roughly half of what you stand to lose on one farm. That has to suck.
