Monticello Ar | Fist thing for another year use a set of hippers to row up. If u plant flat u need to either run a crop maker or something like a john deer 886 to clean out the middle. This will give the water more of a trench to follow. Having 30" or 38" inch rows makes no difference as far as water running down them. We use hippers to row up then just before we water we run a crop maker across to clean out rows. Our crop maker has small middle busters on it. If u could find one to borrow this would help u this year. Our Polly pipe roller also has a middle buster on it. This helps keep the water from runing back under the pipe. With 1/4 mile rows u should be able to run 1/2" holes and try not to run no more holes than what it takes to get it to shoot out about a foot. This should water out in less than 36hrs the first time and 24hrs after that. The main thing is having a middle 4 to 6" deep in order to direct the water. | |
