| I was wondering what effect the cover might have on the soil temperature for the cash crop following the cover? This year was another cold wet spring for the area. I noticed in my no-till wheat and soybeans, where ever there was a lot of standing residue, or heavy, dense short residue, the cash crop was severely set back, both in germination and in population. Reading Steve Groff's thread on soil temp in covered and not covered soils, got me looking at this aspect of conservation in my area. |
