Subject: RE: winterizing sprayer

Middlesex County, Ontario
The windshield washer fluid sold at our local retailers this time of year might not even be freeze rated.

You might have missed some spots. My process is a lot more involved than dumping in fluid and running until it comes out of the nozzles.

Boom end caps.

The fill line to the rinse tank.

The fill line to the main tank.

Recirculation circuit.

Bypass circuit.

Tank clean circuit.

Dead end lines to pressure gauges.

Hand wash tank and valve.

Etc.

I clean the sprayer, get what water out that I can. Then I use pressurized air to get even more water out because I don't want to dilute the product. Then I use a little diaphragm pump to suck RV antifreeze out of the jugs and into the 2" fill connections. Then recirculate all the circuits, pump out of boom, making sure to let some out of the end cap valves also.
