Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Concerning the bed sensor, a gear up arrangement might be possible. Possibly a sprocket could be attached to the bed shaft and connected by a small chain to a jack shaft to drive the sensor. This would be more involved and may not be worth the effort.
Here's another thought. Raven has a proximity sensor that can sense off of a strange shaped device that attaches to a 1" shaft. The strange shaped device is sometimes referred to as a Ninja Wheel. It has protruding "teeth" somewhat like a sprocket but the "teeth" have a reversed curve to them. This means that as the shaft turns, it presents an area of metal followed by an area without metal. It counts those alternations. This sensor does not work very well if trying to sense off a common sprocket since the area between the metal and no metal is not distinct. It works well when using the Ninja wheel or some other device such as a LoveJoy coupler where the metal and non-metal areas are distinct. I don't know what it speed range is and if it would work with your App Rate module. It would likely require a pull-up resistor
Concerning my friend in PA. His address is State College. He lives on a small farm of about 53 acres. His brother told me that one of the more well known potato varieties was developed there many years ago when it was owned by Penn State. I believe he alternates between corn and soybeans. I think his corn gets sold to a local neighbor for cattle feed.
