| Years ago I knew a guy that ran a welding/fabricating shop and he always complained about not being able to get experience help.He told of a dozen people applying for an opening but he wasted a couple months interviewing the top candidates only to see them stay at their current jobs and turn them down. He was always doing completely different jobs and thought he could hire the first guy he met and go straight to work..
When i worked at Deere you were probationary for 3 months (now it is 5 or 7) and they got rid of over half during that time.It helped get rid of some but it also had a lot of people taking a couple weeks vacation from their current job to see how the new one went.When they walked away and went back to their own job i n 2 weeks that made personnel start over.
